If one decides to totally align one's policies with the US, in all areas...

In my opinion, Japan, like Germany, have not paid enogh for the tragedies they have inflicted before and during WWII. It is time they pay in full. And if only their politicians will also be held responsible and punished in some form.

While it’s right to avoid putting all your eggs in one basket and adopting China as the only source, is there really a better option out there?

China’s massive investment in R&D, economies of scale, industrial capacity and vertical integration is second to none in these sectors.

I honestly do not see a credible alternative. Just take the solar sector, China’s LONGI, Jinko, and Trina consistently lead in efficiency breakthroughs and they rapidly implement these efficiencies into production.

Regarding Japan, unfortunately it seems their pivot back towards fossil fuels closely align with the return of Trump in the White House.
