We’re 96th! Thanks, subscribers

Substack notified me that Japan Economy Watch ranked 96th among “Rising” blogs, out of nearly 4,000 economy- and business-focused blogs, counting only those with a paid sub option. To make the list, the blog must have enjoyed the fastest rate of growth in new paid subscribers during the previous 30 days. Substack doesn’t list your exact rank if you then fall below the top 100, as this one subsequently did.

I thank those of you who made the Rising status possible. My goal is to reach, and then surpass, the typical ratio of paid subs to total subs for blogs with a “freemium” model like this one. While Rising status helps reach that goal, there’s still a way to go. I hope those of you who value the insights in the blog, or have restacked it, or told friends about it, or commented on it will consider joining those who have upgraded to a paid sub.
